Kindle 2 is an upgrade of Kindle 1 and has a better look and feel than Kindle 1. The screen of Kindle 2 is sharper. The back cover in Kindle 2 cannot be easily removed and because of this back cover Kindle 2 doesn't slip of from hands. Keyboard is also less obtrusive and much smaller. In Kindle 2, 5 way controller helps you to select left, right, up and down. Using this device, if you are reading a paper then you can go to the previous article as well as move to next one if you want to leave the current one.
Delay between pages in this device is very less and so page loads are faster. Managing your books is now much easier with this device. There is only one small switch to handle sleep function of this device. The original version had silver strip but in Kindle 2, 4-way rocker replaced silver strip and this is used for pressing "OK commands", doing highlighting and creating bookmarks. Features like looking up words, scrolling the cursor, typing text and highlighting text are very much accelerated.
In Kindle 2, when you move the cursor over a word then the meaning of the word pops up in the bottom side of the screen. In Kindle 2, buttons are at the edge. To press the button, you should press the interior side of button to click. Kindle 2 can use the connections of G3 cellphone.
In size, Kindle 2 is lighter than the iPhone.
