Amazon Kindle 2 Review
Just when you thought e-book readers would never get any better, the folks over at Amazon decided to bring you their all new Kindle 2.0. This e-book reader weighs in at a little over 10 ounces and while it is capable of storing up to 1,500 books, at that weight is weighs less then the standard paperback book. This slim lined and ergonomically designed upgrade makes reading for longer periods of time a much easier task as it is only a third of an inch thick and comes complete with the page turning buttons on both sides of its 6 inch display.
Speaking of the display, the Kindle 2.0 features the latest electronic ink display which is so realistic that you will have to take a double take just to make sure that it is a display and not an actual piece of paper. Believe or not, this reader actually uses ink to display the content electronically and while you would think that this would compromise page turning times, you would be wrong. Since the screen is designed in all simplicity just like a regular book's page, there is never a need for a backlight at the page reflects the light like a regular book. Of course this also means longer batter life. But do not let that electronic ink thing make you think that the Kindle 2.0 cannot do pictures well. Ranted it is only capable of showing 16 shades of gray, but it is perfectly capable of rendering virtually any photo in grayscale.
Of course this reader would not be complete without wireless connectivity and it has it. No, there is no need for finding hotspots to use the WiFi, but rather this unit is designed to work on Sprint's 3 network. Don't worry though; Amazon is footing the wireless bill when you get one of these. In less then a minute, Whispernet will deliver you any f the books, periodicals or even magazines that you are in need of. With so many great extras and features on the all new Amazon Kindle 2.0, it is next to impossible to name them all. This is definitely one e-book reader that you have definitely got to try out for yourself. More details...
